Who are your community members?
When you’re doing marketing for your webinars, you will have varying levels of control over who signs up it.
If you’re doing paid ads you will be able to target them towards a specific kind of person, based on demographics, interests and other such qualifiers.
If you’re doing organic (free) marketing, you will not have the same control over who sees your link, rather it will be visible to anyone who goes to the pages that you have posted the links on.
Regardless of which of the above methods of marketing you decide to go with, the question still remains -Who are they?
You may know their demographics, occupations, and interests. but what pain-points are present in their lives? What have they done in the past to solve those pains? How long have they experienced the pain? Are they aware of the cause of the pain?
The more you know about them, and their pain-points, the better.
Why It’s Essential
The reason that it is so very important to always survey your leads is so that you can create content and offers that truly resonates with your audience.
You need to try to reduce the number of assumptions that you make when it comes to your audience.
“I think they would need X” or “I think they would be interested in Y” are not speculations you’ll have to make after you have executed proper surveying.
How To Survey Your Leads
There are a few different ways of surveying your leads on the Expertise.tv platform.
I will be covering two of the main ways of doing it.
- Create a poll with your question.
- Set it up as a pre-webinar poll when creating or editing your webinar.
This means that as soon as anyone signs up for your webinar and get brought to the webinar page, they will be presented a popup with the poll question, which they then have to answer.
- Create a community post with your question(s) and
- Set it up as a “pre webinar community post” through our auto-email feature, and your post will be sent out to anyone who signs up, automatically.

Then, all you have to do is to wait to see the replies come in as you generate more leads! 🙂
